The Jury
The jury consists exclusively of experts of the Fine Arts. These include museum directors, academicians, art historians, gallery owners and art patrons. The Ernst Rietschel Award's high reputation, acknowledgment, and respect in the professional art world are due largely to the wonderful work and time spent by our juror members – we thank you all.
The Jury 2012:
Dr. Arie Hartog
Director, Gerhard Marcks Haus in Bremen
Dr. Inge Herold
Deputy Director of the Kunsthalle Mannheim
Dr. Astrid Nielsen
Research Associate of the Sculpture Collection of the State Art Collections in Dresden
Dr. Katja Schneider
Director of Art Museum of Saxony-Anhalt
Wolf Freiherr von und zu Weiler
President of the Association of the Kunsthalle Bern
Dr. Marc Wellmann
Board of Management, Bernhard Heiliger Foundation, Berlin
A special thanks to the jury:
The organizers and founders of the Ernst-Rietschel-Kulturring e.V. and Antonius Youth and Culture Promotion Association e.V., would like to thank the jurors for their expert and voluntary support, which bestows upon both the award and the award winner a highly reputable and historically artistic honor. While the number of winners is impressive, it's not to overshadow the list of jurors involved in the decision making process.
In anticipation of future awards, two new jurors have been acquired to maintain the competent composition of jury members and help carry on the tradition of the Ernst Rietschel Art Award.
